Like I’ve said before I am a ranch freak. I am ride or die team ranch. And when it comes to store bought ranch’s nothing even comes close to Hidden Valley.
I recently became aware that Hidden Valley just released its first ever ice cream. Yes you read that right… ICE CREAM. So naturally I had to try it. I put ranch on just about everything. There’s rarely a combination that I’m hesitant to dowse in the creamy goodness. I did not have high hopes when I bought this pint of ice cream. But as I was walking through Walmart I saw it there, sitting in all its glory calling out my name. Of course it’s limited edition so it could be there today and home tomorrow. I had to get it.
What does it Taste Like?
What’s it taste like you ask? Well that’s what I’m here to tell you. The base is French Vanilla ice cream and mixed in is the ranch seasonings, kind of like a ranch packet. So if you want to DIY you should grab a hidden valley ranch packet and a bowl of French vanilla ice cream and there you go!
Was it Good?
Was it good you ask? To all my fellow ranch lovers out there I have to say this is not it. I could only take one bite. Sometimes the French Vanilla flavoring masks the ranch seasoning and it’s tolerable but at other points it’s the other way around and that’s not good… After only one bite I had an intense after taste as well. That ranch in there is quite strong. To get rid of the aftertaste I gargled water. That seemed to do the trick.
I am not disappointed, I just don’t think ice cream and ranch should be collabing lol. Let’s keep ranch for savoring foods and ice cream for sweet foods. In no world should we be putting ice cream and ranch together in one bite.
