Florida's Best Cookies
Do you like cookies? Do you like chocolate chip cookies? Do you like BIG cookies that are so decadent that it takes you a few hours to finish?
Well if the answer to these questions is yes then I highly recommend you make your way to Gideon’s Bakehouse! You are in for a deliciously decadent treat that will always have you coming back for more.
Disney does Cookies
Gideon’s Bakehouse has two locations and both are located in the Orlando, FL area. One is at East End Market and the other (my personal favorite) Disney Springs. You can NOT beat Disney and cookies. Be prepared for a line out the door. I have never been able to just walk right in. The longest I have had to wait is 30 minutes but it just depends on the time of year and day you stop by.
Once you get inside the Bakehouse it is decorated of course by Disney standards. The dark lighting and Victorian Era decor gives it an ominous and almost creepy feel. But it is so fun!
What to Order!?
When you get up to the window to view the cookies your mouth will drop from the sheer size of them alone. Next you’ll see the many chocolate chips that they are COVERED in. Can I have some cookie with my chips please lol. Next to the cookies they have cakes available to order as well. I strongly urge you to consider them when making your decision but please note the slices are huge!!! And your eyes are definitely bigger then your stomach once you start ordering.
Gideons also likes to change up a few of the cookie and cake flavors, but they also will have the standing favorites there everytime. My personal favorite is the Banana Bread Chocolate Chip. I love banana in about almost everything and it helps cut the intense and delicious chocolate flavor of the chocolate chips. Make sure to go nice and earlier in the day because they will run out of flavors, you want to make sure you secure the one you’re dying to try.
Gideons classic flavors that you can never go wrong in ordering (but come on can you go wrong in ordering any of them):
Original Chocolate Chip, Pistachio Toffee Chocolate Chip, & Triple Chocolate Chip
The other flavors available do depend on the day and time you are visiting, so be sure to research that in advance!
The only problem I have is not being able to finish a cookie in one sitting. They are so rich that it will take you a bit to finish it. But nevertheless I still come back for more. Also pro tip: take someone with you so you can try their cookie too 😉
Anytime I am in the Orlando area Gideon’s has become a must do. It is very hard to not go there even being in the surrounding areas. I will make the trip and I bet you will too.
