DunkAroos are back!
I am a child of the 90’s. That means when I found out DunkAroos were coming back, it was as if someone told me I had won the lottery.
I can’t believe DunkAroos were ever discontinued to begin with… they remind so much of my childhood. I remember having my mom pack them in my lunch for me growing up, and I would dunk my Roos in the frosting but I would save a big portion of the frosting for last to eat all at once. What a simpler time.
The cookies are vanilla but as you know there are 2 flavors of frosting: chocolate and vanilla. My favorite is the vanilla confetti frosting. Nothing felt better than tearing into those as a 6 year old at lunch. Just thinking about it I can taste them.
DunkAroos came back in 2020. That was one good thing that came of that year. Seeing them back on the shelves took me right back. I was so excited to have them once again.
To my surprise I was disappointed. The flavor had changed… it was not the same as I had remembered it being as a kid. It is still good but not the same. The frosting tastes more “store bought”. There is also a limited edition DunkAroos cookie dough available, I will have to get around to trying that out.
I still enjoy having DunkAroos because it brings me back to my childhood but it’s not the same.
