Bubble Waffle or Cookie Sandwich
Summer is the season of ice cream. Every summer I go to an ice cream parlor at least once a week. It’s fun trying new places and flavors. My favorite is when the ice cream is homemade, nothing tops that. While in Ocean City I couldn’t help myself and of course got ice cream a few times throughout my vacation.
Bubble waffles have always intrigued me. I see them at every touristy area and they always smell so yummy. I have always wanted to have one but never brought myself to get one because it’s just a waffle right? But when I went to Cape May, which is a short drive from Ocean City, there was a small ice cream parlor among the shops called Crepe May- funny. It caught my attention because they not only had sweet and savory crepe options but bubble waffle cones and ice cream. I decided to try the monster bubble waffle. Which was hard vanilla ice cream topped with m&m’s, granola, peanut butter sauce, and whipped cream, in a freshly made bubble waffle. I will say it was quite hard to eat out of the soft waffle. It was fun and yummy but not practical. I’m glad I tried it but it wasn’t anything special and something I wouldn’t waste my money on again. It was extremely filling especially if you ate the entire waffle.
On the Ocean City boardwalk we stopped at the Famous Cookie Creamery. I was super excited to try this because you get to make your own cookie sandwiches!! They have freshly made cookies and homemade ice cream. This was by far the most delicious ice cream cookie sandwich I have ever had. The cookies were soft and gooey but held the ice cream nicely.
I tried the double dark chocolate and m&m cookies with vanilla ice cream. I will admit the cookies were the star of the show. I should have just gotten a dozen of those. There was a blueberry muffin cookie that looked heavenly. That is my one regret. I should have gone back for more cookies. I loved this place though and being able to customize the cookie sandwich.
You can never really go wrong with ice cream, waffles, or cookies. I’m so happy I was able to come the two into a fabulous dessert.
