Liberty Bagel: New York City

A New York Bagel

The city that never sleeps, New York City, has an over abundance of literally everything. If you’re hungry for something you’ll be able to find it and it probably will be quite delicious as well. NYC is known for its beauty, skyline, the Statue of Liberty, Broadway, shopping, and my most favorite FOOD! Where better else to have a bagel and cream cheese than New York where they are known for their bagels!

Liberty Bagel is an extremely popular spot to grab a bagel and cream cheese with a total of 4 locations, 3 in Manhattan and 1 in Queens. You can order online or stop in but you probably will have to wait in line. What separates Liberty Bagel apart from all the other bagel shops in NYC (which I am sure there are hundreds) is the vast selection of bagels and cream cheese flavors. The bagels and cream cheese are both homemade and fresh too!

The Famous Rainbow Bagel

If you never had a NY bagel before you’re in for a treat. They smell soooo fresh and flavorful and are so chewy, the cream cheese is piled on HIGH, so if you’re not a fan of cream cheese I would get a breakfast bagel instead. But man oh man they don’t skimp on the cream cheese. My order was a rainbow bagel with their birthday cake cream cheese and an everything bagel with vegetable cream cheese. They are known for their rainbow bagel so of course I had to try that. So yummy and the cream cheese tasted exactly like frosting. It was very sweet and tasted more like dessert than breakfast. The everything bagel is an all time favorite of mine so of course I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try it and it was a nice savory balance to the rainbow bagel. What impressed me the most was the cream cheese. There was a lot of it but it was whipped and tasted better than any store bought cream cheese I have ever had.

Seriously you need to run not walk to get a NYC bagel. They are built different. I haven’t tried many other NYC bagel places but I know that Liberty Bagel is definitely a good one to start out at

Verdict: Yay
