Smokin petes: The Finger Lakes

Seneca Lake Hidden Gem

Now come on, who doesn’t like/love a good BBQ? Well I suppose it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but it sure is mine. Sometimes all you need is to sink your teeth into a brisket or ribs or some mac salad. Well if you’re in the Finger Lakes you’re in luck. I have just the place for you Smokin’ Petes.

Smokin’ Petes is located in Geneva, NY on the west side of the beautiful Seneca Lake. After spending the day on the lake or in the wineries make your way over to Smokin Petes for some good eats.

This may be the best place I have had brisket ever… so delicious, moist, tender, and flavorful. The brisket is a must have item from the menu. I decided to get the chopped brisket sandwich which includes candied jalapenos and pickled red onion. Wow just wow. I had never had candied jalapenos before because I am not a spice gal, I like to keep it mild but they were the perfect combination of sweet and spicy and added a ton of flavor. I ordered mac salad as a side and that just didn’t do it for me. It is hard to impress me when it comes to mac salad because nothing truly can out do homemade mac salad.

Other sides I was able to try were the seasoned tater tots (amazing don’t skip these), corn bread which I have had better, garlic parmesan salt potatoes which were very flavorful, and the mac and cheese which was ok. So to say the least don’t come for the sides, come for the brisket but if you’re getting a side don’t waste your money on anything besides the tater tots. That’s worth it.

Do yourself a favor and plan a trip to the Finger Lakes. There are so many gorgeous places to visit, hike, and boat. And when you’re ready for some grub stop in at Smokin Petes!

Verdict:Yay
