The Pastabilities are endless. If you are in Syracuse, NY you don’t have an option you must grab a bite to eat here.
I heard of Pastabilities through my sister who works in the film industry in Syracuse. Her co-workers would go get food here as well as even famous actors have been. This is a not so hidden gem and most definitely requires planning. You can’t just stop in to eat, you need a reservation. Doors open at 4pm and there’s already a line forming, we had reservations for 4:15 and were in the back of the line right at 4!
They start by bringing you a red spicy sauce with bread. Try not to fill up on this before your main meal but it’s hard not to! It’s so addicting and it does have a kick to it but it’s not too spicy where you can’t enjoy it. Bread refills are free but it’s an extra $3 to refill the sauce.
I got the Pappardelle pasta with the Pink Vodka Cream sauce and extra sauce on the side. This sauce is something I could drink it is one of a kind. The pasta is homemade and Pappardelle is such a fun pasta, it holds the vodka sauce well. It was MAGICAL, absolutely delicious there’s nothing I would change about it. You have to go experience this for yourself.
My boyfriend got the Chicken Parmesan and had the homemade angel hair with it. I never have tasted pasta that was so light and airy in my life. The chicken was fried to perfection with melted mozzarella. On top of that is an ice cream scoop of ricotta cheese. They really don’t hold back here.
Syracuse you have stolen my heart and I do not want it back. A truly remarkable restaurant you get what you pay for. Prices are a little bit higher than normal but the food does not disappoint.
